HD Tach 3.0.4.0 is a low level hardware benchmark for storage devices that use random access read/write methods, such as hard drives, removable drives (ZIP/JAZZ), flash devices, and RAID arrays.
The program measures the physical performance of the devices.
The trial version measures the sequential read speed (at various points on the device), the random access speed, interface burst speed and CPU utilization of the drive, while the registered version adds sequential write testing.
When you run HD Tach 3.0.4.0, it will detect your drives. You will then be able to select which one you want to test, and what test will you perform (Long or Quick). You will be able to check for updates, contact tech support or view the data in Graph Mode, where you can compare your drive performance with others stored in the program.
When finished, the program will display a graph showing you the results of the sequential read speed test in a graphic, among with your drive´s details, and a comparation between your results and other drives.
